What is COE?
The Certificate of Entry (COE) is a letter given by the Thai Embassy or Consulate that allows a foreign visa holder to enter Thailand. This letter will be presented to the immigration officer upon arrival.
Requirements for COE?
The most important requirement for obtaining a COE is that the applicant meets the criteria for entry into Thailand. Before applying for the COE, the candidate must first get Thai visa. The applicant must prepare the following documents for the COE application once the visa has been obtained:
- Copy of passport
- Copy of the STV, non-immigrant visa, or extension of stay with a re-entry permit
- Copy of the COVID-19 Travel Insurance for Thailand Policy covering treatment and medical expenses related to COVID-19 with a minimum coverage of 100,000 USD.
- Copy of confirmed flight booking
- Copy of confirmed Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotel booking
Applying for COE
There are 2 steps as follows.
Step 1: Pre-approval
- Fill in your personal information on the COE website
- Upload supporting papers such as a copy of your passport, a copy of your valid visa, and COVID-19 travel insurance.
- Applicants who meet the requirements will be screened and pre-approved by the Embassy.
- After 1-3 working days, please check the progress of your application.
Step 2: Issuance of COE
- Applicants who have been pre-approved as travelers can subsequently purchase airline tickets and make reservations at ASQ hotels.
- In order to get the COE, a copy of the airplane ticket and the ASQ hotel booking confirmation must be uploaded within 15 days.
- After 1-3 working days, please check the progress of your application.
Required documents to entry Thailand
- Passport and valid Thai visa
- Certificate of Entry (COE)
- Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected.
- Insurance or letter from employer guaranteeing that the insurance company or employer will cover a minimum of 100,000 USD of medical costs incurred by the applicant in Thailand, including medical costs in the event that applicant contracts COVID-19 (The insurance must cover the total duration of stay in Thailand)
- For vaccinated people, vaccine certificate (an original paper or a print out of online vaccine certificate)
- Quarantine facility (ASQ, ALQ, AHQ, GQ, or OQ) booking confirmation on arrival date.
- T.8 Form (Health Declaration Form)
